No Surgery for Carpenter

Does this worry anyone else?

Obviously, if it works, that's the preferred method.  We'd rather not have people cutting into Cardinal players if at all possible.  But how many times have we heard the "rest and rehab" mantra, only to have that mantra thrown back in our faces when surgery is finally needed?  Mark Mulder, Matt Clement, even Carpenter himself have had that "it'll be fine if we leave it alone" mentality promoted by the ballclub.

Maybe this time it'll work.  Just doing something isn't always the best idea (ask some of the House Republicans about their thoughts on that).  With the history of this club, though, it really worries me that we are going to get to spring training, have Carpenter throw a day or two, then get shut down for a while.  Then, somewhere around May or June, he gets the surgery and is out for the rest of the year.

Supposedly, this is the same affliction that Carp has faced, and had surgically fixed before in that shoulder.

Now they think that there is no guarantee that it will be fixed by surgery.

I fear that there's no guarantee either way. If he does or doesn't get cut on, could the Cardinals really count on him?

If he gets cut, how do you ensure his rehab? If he doesn't how do you ensure his full healing?

Sucks.
