In the Thick of It...

Whew...we are now officially in post-Carp recovery time. What a morning. Check back for more this evening as the official stories will go up, but here's a taste until then.

So far, we've had visits with Chris Carpenter, Rafael Furcal, Zach Cox, Ryan Jackson, and Jordan Swagerty. After getting off to a slow start (that saw me spend entirely too much on Stan Musial merchandise...if that's possible), the Winter Warm-Up: Media Edition is in full swing. Players are being shuffled into the media room for anywhere from three minute chats to twelve minute discussions with a huddled group of scribes and TV/Radio personalities battling for position.

I have to tell you, the excitement level in this hotel is beyond belief. Fans are packed in and buzzing about the Championship team. What an incredible event put on by the Cardinals.

I know, I know...you want more...and I would LOVE to give it to you, but for now...there's this:

1. Furcal insists he's keeping his number (rather than giving it up for Beltran).
2. Carp gave yours truly an "are you kidding me, here" look. I feel so official, now.
3. And I scored a one-on-one with Ryan Jackson. WOOT! (details to come this evening...)

Alright, all...Waino is in the building, and Mo is nearing the end of a Fan Forum discussion. Methinks I may be knee deep in it very soon.

From the Winter Warm-Up in St. louis...
